Lots of Love from The Chicago Tribune

Novel-T traveled to Chicago for the 2012 Printers Row Lit Fest this weekend and had a great time at the festival and around the city at large.

Among the countless folks that came by the Novel-T booth were a photographer and reporter from The Chicago Tribune, who were kind enough to include Novel-T in their festival coverage:

"On Polk Street, there was Novel-T, a Brooklyn-based business selling mock literary baseball jerseys. The hottest seller was Edgar Allan Poe. The front of the shirt showed a raven and the back read "Poe" with, beneath it, the number, "13." But "Eggers" (with a picture of a stapler on front, a reference to Dave Eggers' memoir "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius"wasn't doing too badly either."

The Trib's photos of Novel-T at the festival are up here and here.

Dave Eggers T-Shirt, and an Introduction to the 826 Project

Posted by League Commissioner on November 08, 2011 0 Comments

Novel-T couldn't be prouder to offer our Dave Eggers t-shirt, officially licensed by Dave.  It features the illustration of a stapler that he drew for the introduction of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.

A dollar from each shirt, as from almost every shirt we sell*, is donated to 826 NYC, a non-profit after-school creative-writing tutoring program based in Brooklyn, which Dave helped found.  (Hence the 26 on the back of the Eggers shirt.)

The 826 project started in San Francisco with 826 Valencia, then 826 NYC opened, and since then tons more have cropped up all over the country.  If you're unfamiliar with the program, have a look at Dave's inspirational TED Talk from a few years back when he described the idea.
